Eat Pray Love

Three holy tenets of a great life...eat, pray and love.. could be synonymous for satisfaction, peace and happiness... or sometimes fat, fear and fall.

Before I talk on the book allow me to ramble a little about these 3 core elements... one can never have enough of these – the hunger for love.. pray for love.. love of eating.. fasting for praying... pray for food, food for love... God and love the most interesting food for thought... all joys and miseries in life and world are somehow related to these three.. religion, hunger and of course who can beat love.. so a book with these 3 as its sole subject.. definitely strikes a chord with anyone.. especially women because there fixation on these three things is greater and so is their articulation.

So ladies here it is for you... a saga of a woman searching for her own.. not necessary that people or situations have been bad to you... sometimes you just feel miserable, sad, unhappy and start thinking where your life is headed to.. though it was all planned it turns out that you are just not happy with what you have now.. did that happen when you make yourself believe that this is what is good for you... this is how a life should be.. this is happiness as everyone around you thinks so.. but this is a sham and how long can you deceive yourself..  you want to run away from everything from yourself to find where you are, who you are.. and why you are...

This book is also a travelogue with a storyline, characters, plots and a happy ending..  it is a fiction with non fictional account of places.. it is a romantic story but with self.. its a journey but the ultimate destination is the start point.. It is everything which a woman wants but with no knights in shining armour to rescue but escaping far to rescue yourself, with no loved one to hold you only strangers showing you the path in kindly ways, nothing to support you but your own will to continue, all the places you want to go before you die but never land up with other things taking priority always...

HHHaaaaaaaaa same story is she talking what I want and how I also can do it or is she mocking me and saying you can never do it because you are too stuck up..

The protagonist runs from her life to find herself in 3 different countries with 3 different passions.. 3 different cultures.. with 3 different goals... living 3 different lives.. You feel that she is talking about one person in 3 different births..or 3 people in one story...  an Italian culture lover.. an Indian spiritual lover and finally a Balinese nature lover but after all just a lover... each different life, or world and phase making her realise a part of her, taking the hurting part, sad parts and infusing new hopes and new life..

This book is a lengthy read and I read it for 2 long months, which generally happens only when the book is slow and boring.. This book is a slow read but far cry from boring. Its as interesting as a woman’s life there is always something to talk, fret, laugh, ponder, gossip, wonder about..  .. it gets slow sometimes as it contains a lot of introspection, information, cultural facts, travels and conversations, of course on eat, pray & love.. You don’t want to miss any because its as if someone is talking to you about your own thoughts.. a clear view of a woman’s mind.. rash but gentle.. exploring but belonging.. wanting but giving.. fighting but caring..doubting but praying.. eating but fretting.. loving but fearing.. fearing but hoping...

Its what a chick book should be and much more.. discuss it with your girl friends in lengthy chit chats over coffee or sleep overs or late night phone calls... Its like catching up with an old friend and realising nothing has really changed, she is just the same, she is just like you
